Bend test

The test consists of subjecting a test specimen to deformation by bending at a constant speed without reversing the direction of the bending during the test.

The bend angle (ram displacement) and fracture appearance provides a guide to the ductility of a polyethylene pipe welded joint hence the weld quality

The Bend test is used in conjunction with the tensile test to assess the performance of the weld quality.
